Josh Burkman vs. Tyler Stinson slated for WSOF 9

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Josh Burkman's road back to the World Series of Fighting welterweight title begins March 29.

Burkman will meet Tyler Stinson on the main card of WSOF 9 next month at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, WSOF executive vice-president Ali Abdel-Aziz informed MMAFighting.com. The event will air on NBCSN.

Burkman (26-10) saw his five-fight wining streak come to an end in October when he lost via fourth-round triangle choke to Steve Carl in the promotion's first welterweight title fight.

Stinson (27-9) has won his last four fights in a row, including his WSOF debut last month when he defeated Valdir Araujo via third-round TKO. He is a former Strikeforce and Bellator veteran.

WSOF 9 will be headlined by Carl vs. Rousimar Palhares for the WSOF 170-pound title and Marlon Moraes vs. Josh Rettinghouse for the inaugural 135-pound title.
