Riding his first three-fight win streak since 2006, Leonard Garcia will look to defend the Legacy FC featherweight title on March 21.
Legacy FC promoter Mick Maynard told MMAFighting.com on Saturday that Garcia will headline Legacy FC 29 in Tulsa, Okla., in a five-round contest with Shane Howell.
Paul Buentello vs. Myron Dennis, will square off for the vacant light heavyweight championship, and it will co-headline the card.
UFC veteran Garcia (18-11-1) signed with Legacy FC in 2013, and racked up three consecutive wins in five months. Following stoppage victories over Rey Trujillo and Nick Gonzalez, Garcia knocked out Kevin Aguilar to claim the 145-pound title.
Howell (13-7), who hasn’t fought since 2012, makes his Legacy FC debut after scoring six straight wins with five stoppages, including a first-round submission victory over Mark Oshiro at Bellator 42. Howell also holds a submission victory over UFC fighter Tim Elliott.
