UFC 170 live blog: Ronda Rousey vs. Sara McMann

This is the UFC 170 live blog for Ronda Rousey vs. Sara McMann, a women's bantamweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

Rousey, who has successfully defended the UFC title twice now, will face McMann, who is 1-0 in her UFC career, in the main event.

Round 1: The referee in charge of the action is Herb Dean. Both fighters open orthodox. She eats a shot or two and presses McMann into the fence. Two hard shots from Rousey plus a knee from Rousey. The knee was a liver shot and it drops McMann hard. Rousey pounces and is firing shots, but McMann tries to stand. Too late. The referee stops it. Premature, probably.
