Round 1: Herb Dean is the referee for this main event. Faber the first to come forward, a sally that pushes Barao back. But the Brazilian takes the center of the cage. Faber snaps up Barao's leg, and spins him around, and as they separate he lands a nice right hand. Again Faber comes forward with a right-left, and pushes Barao back. Barao fakes a kick, nothing doing. Nice exchange in the middle, with Barao connecting and Faber covering up, then throwing a backfist that misses. High-low from Faber, who lands the body shot and glances with the chin music. Barao unaffected, comes forward and throws a kick. They come together in the middle, and Faber throws a couple of errant high kicks. Barao snaps off a very loud leg kick, then catches Faber and pounces! Now it's all Barao, he's on top and landing, and Faber surviving. He gets to his feet and eats a couple more. All Barao! But Faber returns fire! Barao again with a sally, and a huge barrage of punches. Faber is hurt and reeling. Barao's relentless, and he is pouring it on. And Herb Dean steps in and calls off Barao! Fight's over. Faber pleads his case, but Barao will retain the bantamweight title. Wow. Barao gets the TKO finish. It was a straight up assault from the moment Barao rocked him.
