UFC Fight Night 36 live blog: Erick Silva vs. Takenori Sato

This is the UFC Fight Night 36 live blog for Erick Silva vs. Takenori Sato, a welterweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil.

Silva, who has lost three of his past five fights, will face Sato, who is making his UFC debut, on the main card.

Round 1: The referee in charge is Mario Yamasaki. Sato opens southpaw with Silva orthodox. Sato eats a few punches and body kick and dives for a single. Silva actually uses his opposite heel to come from behind and drill Sato in the face along with Silva's normal barrage of punches. Sato readjusts, but he's being pounded on. Sato goes limp after eating shot after shot and the fight is stopped. Sato had nothing for Silva.
