2015 IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA set for UFC's International Fight Week

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation World Championships of Amateur MMA are once again headed to Las Vegas.

According to a press release issues by the IMMAF, the 2015 Championships will take place during the UFC's International Fight Week in conjuction with the UFC 189 pay-per-view scheduled for July 11. International Fight Week is set for July 7 through 12 in Las Vegas. Earlier this year, over 100 athletes from 23 countries participated in the first-ever tournament, featuring multiple weight classes, with the finals taking place at the UFC Fan Expo in July. Exact dates and locations, as well as other pertinent details, have yet to be announced for the 2015 tournament.

"The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation is the international democratic governing body for the sport of MMA, representing stakeholders worldwide – athletes, coaches, referees, governments, athletic commissions, sports confederations, international associations, professional promoters and more. Founded from within the MMA community for the MMA community, the purpose of the IMMAF is to protect and further the regulation, development and recognition of the sport on all levels, enabling international competition through the organization of non-profit, democratic national federations."

The IMMAF is currently comprised of federations in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mauritius, Malaysia, Nepal, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, The Seychelles, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Ukraine, United Kingdom and USA.
