In the pay-per-view main card opener at UFC 180, Hector Urbina made the most of his UFC debut, submitting Edgar Garcia in the first round.

Urbina opened the first round taking center of the cage and while calm, also proactive on offense. Garcia caught a kick and used it to shove Urbina to the mat. As Urbina rolled, Garcia gets both hooks in on Urbina's back. Urbina continued to roll and was able to shuck Garcia off of him. In a scramble, Garcia stopped moving on his knees, which prompted Urbina to attempt an anaconda choke, but it failed. The two stood and clinched along the fence, but Urbina was able to secure a high-elbow guillotine as Garcia changed levels for a takedown against the cage.

The end came officially at 3:38 of round 1.

"I said, 'He's not getting out'," Urbina told UFC commentator Joe Rogan when reviewing film of his win.
