Welcome to episode 109 of The Promotional Malpractice Live Chat.

As I previously pointed out, the UFC 179 fight card was generally not good. However, the main event was nothing short of incredible. Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes gave fight fans the kind of treat they've been looking for on Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro. Conor McGregor gave people something, too, but it was a mix of intrigue, over exposure, frustration and genuine glee.

We'll talk about that largely dreadful event, the crown jewel that was the main event, why McGregor was there and every other possible angle.

I suppose we can't avoid the rivalry between middleweights Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold. We'll discuss what the implications of a win and how the fight is likely to play out.

Invicta 9 is this Saturday, but it's one of the weakest cards Invicta has put together to date. Luckily for fight fans, UFC 180 - even in its battered condition - is just around the corner.

Bellator's season is almost over, GLORY 18 isn't too far away, the IBJJF Pro on Saturday netted bizarre results, Cung Le wants an apology from the UFC, Manny Pacquiao fights next month, TUF: Brazil 4 is going to be shot in Las Vegas and much, much more.
