Light heavyweight headliners Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader both met their required weight at Tuesday's UFC Fight Night 28 weigh-ins in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, rendering their main event bout official.
Teixeira, the No. 2 ranked UFC light heavyweight listed as high as a 4-to-1 favorite by Las Vegas oddsmakers, took advantage of the non-title fight's one-pound allowance, tipping the scales at 206 pounds. Bader, meanwhile, came in one pound lighter, weighing 205 pounds.
"[Bader] is a tough guy, but I'm confident in my skills and I'm going to beat him," said Teixeira.
Likewise, top-ranked middleweights Yushin Okami and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza both cleared the 185-pound limit ahead of Wednesday night's co-main event. No. 3 Okami tipped the scales at 185 pounds, while No. 5 Souza, a former Strikeforce champion, came in one pound heavier at 186.
"I think [Okami] is ready for a fight," Souza said through a translator. "He came to put a great show, but I'm going to upset him and I'm going to show him who's going to win tomorrow."
