This is the UFC Fight Night 26 live blog for Uriah Hall vs. John Howard, a middleweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the TD Garden in Boston.

Hall, who is competing in the UFC for the second time, will face Howard, who hasn't fought in the UFC since June 2011, on the main card.

Round 1: Referee Mario Yamasaki is our third man in the cage. Hall immediately shoots for a power double and gets it. Well, that was surprising. Howard ties Hall up, preventing any real offense. The crowd is already starting to get restless. Hall stands, then allows Howard back to his feet. Hall catches Howard with a knee coming in. Hall fires a jab down the pipe. Howard lunges inside and cracks Hall with a left hook. Hall ties up against the fence, regains his bearings, then hunts for a double. Howard defends. More boos from the Boston crowd. Howard crushes Hall with a leg kick. Howard changes levels for a single but can't complete it. Hall misses wildly with a spinning wheel kick. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 Hall.

Round 2: Howard opens with another leg kick. Hall answers with a few kicks of his own. Howard lunges inside but can't land flush. Howard seizes a standing guillotine from inside the clinch. Hall muscles out, but winds up with his back against the fence. Howard abandons a single then punishes Hall's body. Hall blasts Howard's chin with a knee then reverses position. The action slows and Yamasaki splits it up. Howard presses forward hunting for another single. Hall changes levels, then slickly takes Howard's back in the ensuing scramble. Howard powers out and starts swinging heavy leather. Hall avoids any major damage but quickly succumbs to a power double. Howard unloads a few hammerfists from inside Hall's guard. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 Howard. (19-19 overall.)

Round 3: Howard shucks off a double leg attempt then blocks a spinning heel kick. Howard headhunting with his right hand. Solid exchange ends with both fighters touching gloves. Hall muscles Howard against the cage. Yamasaki calls for action, then splits it up. Another glove touch. Howard blocks a head kick. Howard eats a big knee then powers Hall to the mat. Hall trying to use the fence to stand up. He climbs to his feet but Howard clings to his back. Hall reverses then dumps Howard onto the mat. Howard stands and Hall releases back to the center of the cage. 20 seconds left and they touch gloves again. Hall fakes a spinning maneuver, then misses completely with a capoeria kick. Howard divebombs on top of Hall with a right hand. Howard ends the round in mount. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 Howard. (29-28 overall.)
