Round 1: Herb Dean is our referee for this middleweight championship bout. After months of hype, hundreds of predictions and miles of pre-fight footage, here we go. No touch of gloves for this one. Silva circling, bouncing on his heels. Weidman picks his spot and shoots for a deep double. He gets it, winding up in half guard. Weidman postures up and cracks Silva with a series of short punches and elbows. Silva regains his guard. Weidman stands, unloads a few punches, then drops down for a leglock. Silva escapes and stands. Silva easily evades a jab. Silva just walked back to the fence, a la Bonnar. Weidman looks to tie up. Silva pushes him off, then disdainfully walks backward with his hands at his hips. Wow, this is crazy. Silva smiles and shakes his head. Weidman slowly paws forward with his jab. Silva throws a high kick with complete disregard. Silva is just clowning here. This is so wild. Weidman looks lost on his feet. Silva urges Weidman to do something. The horn sounds and Silva kisses Weidman on his cheek. Geez. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 Weidman.
Round 2: Silva still urging Weidman to do something. Weidman connects with a left hook and Silva mocks him by dancing around, acting like he's dazed. Silva easily stuffs a double, then tells Weidman about it. Weidman misses a wild high kick. Silva with his hands down. Weidman presses forward with a combination. Weidman drops Silva with a left hook! Oh. My. God. Weidman lunges on top of Silva with another right. He's out. It happened. It actually happened. I'm speechless.
