Live Chat: Shane Carwin retirement, MMA gloves discussion and UFC summer preview

There's no major MMA or boxing event this weekend, but that just means it's a time to reflect and relax. There's also lots of non-MMA event news, so we'll have to digest that, too.

Breaking late Tuesday night, former interim UFC heavyweight champion Shane Carwin retired from mixed martial arts competition. After a career hampered by injuries, the strong puncher called it quits. We'll break down his career, what he achieved, what he didn't and what we can learn from his participation in the sport.

The MMA gloves hysteria continues. It's a gigantic waste of time and basically a non-issue. I'll explain why during the chat.

Floyd Mayweather's pay-per-view returns appear to be low. Why did that happen? What does that mean? We'll get into that as well.

And, of course, whatever is on your mind is up for grabs.
