Spike TV announced the cast of their upcoming fight reality show 'Fight Master: Bellator MMA' Monday. The cast is comprised of 32 welterweights competing in a tournament to win $100,000. The fighters will partake in qualifying bouts in the first three episodes. The finale will be broadcasted live on Spike where the eventual winner will move into an actual Bellator tournament to earn a welterweight title shot.
The series will premier at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 19th.
Unlike the UFC's 'The Ultimate Fighter', fighters will also pick their coaches on Fight Master. Former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight Randy Couture, Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock and Joe Warren will serve as this season's coaches. Bellator color commentator Jimmy Smith will serve as the show's host.
The cast includes a few familiar names, including UFC and Strikeforce veteran Joe Riggs, M-1 Global veteran Jason Norwood, Bellator veteran Chris Lozano, rising prospect Marcus Aurelio (not the PRIDE and UFC veteran) and others.
