UFC 160 results: Khabib Nurmagomedov stays perfect, moves to 20-0 with win over Abel Trujillo

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Abel Trujillo had the most spirited confrontation of the UFC 160 weigh-ins, so it was no surprise the two were in for a scrap on fight night.

Nurmagomedov was able to tailor the fight to his strengths, turning it into a wrestling match for extended periods of time, and riding Trujillo to a unanimous decision win.

All three judges scored it 30-27.

The win kept the lightweight unbeaten, as he moved to 20-0 overall and 4-0 in the UFC.

Trujillo might have accidentally set the tone in his opponent's favor when he surprised the Russian with an early takedown. From there, it seemed as though Nurmagomedov was hell-bent on proving he was the superior wrestler. He scored seven takedowns in the first -- by contrast, he landed only six strikes in the round) -- and we were off and running.

Nurmagomedov had his best chance at finishing in the first, when he attempted triangle chokes on two separate occasions. Trujillo survived, but that would be his theme, as he was susceptible to the takedown for the remainder of the bout.

According to FightMetric, Nurmagomedov scored an astounding 21 takedowns during the three-round bout, setting a new UFC single bout record. He also landed 46 strikes while Trujillo could only manage 18.

The loss snapped Trujillo's five-fight win streak, as he fell to 10-5.
