Round 1: Dan Miragliota is the referee for this fight. No touching of gloves after all the trash talk between these two. Magalhaes is throwing leg kicks early and Davis is going for two-punch combos. A brief clinch along the fence, then a break. Davis rocks Magalhaes with a head kick, but Davis doesn't fully capitalize. Davis with a combo. Magalhaes catches a Davis kick, gets him to the mat, and goes for an armlock, but Davis manages to escape and get back to his feet. Two minutes left. Davis is hitting Magalhaes with crisp punches, keeping Magalhaes mostly backpedaling. Magalhaes claims an eye poke (it wasn't apparent), but Mirgaliota tells him to keep going. Round 2: Replay in between rounds shows that Magalhaes was poked in the eye. Back to action. Magalhaes more active early, landing with a two-punch combo which surprises Davis. Davis goes for a takedown, then Magalhaes tries to pull guard. Davis back to his feet. Magalhaes follows. Davis with a couple crisp combos; Magalhaes' face is starting to swell. Midway through the round, Davis doesn't have much of an answer for Davis' clinical jab work. Magalhaes tries to pull guard again, but Davis isn't buying it. Magalhaes simply has no answer for Davis. Round 3: Magalhaes' corner let him know he needs a finish in round three, but in the opening minute, Magalhaes isn't doing much of anything. Davis scores an effortless takedown, but refuses to follow him to the mat. Davis continues to methodically jab Magalhaes, who is covering up but using zero head movement. Two minutes left. Nohting from Magalhaes demonstrates urgency. Magalhaes makes a sloppy lunge for a single leg to no avail.
