If there's been a better UFC or even MMA show in 2013 than Saturday's UFC on Fox 7, I can't think of it. If there's going to be a better one later this year, it's going to have to be pretty special. Tonight saw a record-tying number of knockouts, a sensational fight card from top to bottom, surprising upsets, an entire fight team that appears to be improving before our very eyes and so much more.
There's also the news of what's next. As UFC President Dana White announced at the post-fight press conference, the winner of T.J. Grant vs. Gray Maynard will get the next title shot. While some may want a rematch for Melendez - and they'd hardly be without cause - the last Strikeforce lightweight champion is going to have to do more work in the UFC before getting another shot.
There's also the matter of UFC vs. Strikeforce. If you're keeping score, it was a tie tonight at 4-4.
