Round 1: Gastelum opens southpaw, Hall is orthodox. Gastelum doing all the striking early, but Hall appears patient. Hall puts his back against the fence, Gastelum throws enough punches to clinch. Hall starting to open up with countershots. Gastelum, however, continues to press forward and scores a huge double leg. Now he's working on top while Hall is in half guard. Hall inches his way back to the cage and stands. Hall also scores with an inside leg kick that lands with authority.

Round 2: Hall opens up and is dropping his hands as he tries to counterpunch. Gastelum scores another double leg. Gastelum working from Hall's half guard. Hall scores the underhook reversal and now is on top of Gastelum. Hall scores a knee as the two stand. Hall scores a trip takedown and is working from Gastelum's half guard. Gastelum stands without securing an underhook and Hall scores a monster suplex.

Round 3: Hall lands a knee early and it's low which temporarily stops the action. Gastelum is in on a hip and scores a takedown but Hall reverses. The two stands and now they're tentative after a huge flurry of activity. Hall lands a huge left hand, but with no follow up. Gastelum scores a big double leg takedown, now workingfrom half guard. Towards the end of the frame Gastelum postures for an armbar, but Hall rolls through.
