This is the UFC 157 live blog for Court McGee vs. Josh Neer, a welterweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Round 1: John McCarthy is the referee for this welterweight fight. McGee more active in the early going, mixing up punches and kicks, but Neer catches his attention with a sharp right hand. McGee backs up Neer with a four-punch combo. Neer answers with a two-punch combo of his own. McGee’s jab is finding a home. McGee knocks him backwards with a left. Neer covers up. A back-and-forth boxing match, McGree throws more, but when Neer connects he’s landing square. McGee with a low kick. Lots of head movement by McGee, while Neer is pretty much just moving straight forward. A bunch of big uppercuts inside by McGee. Neer is running backwards. McGee drops him and continues to pour it on. McGree slows a bit, Neer tries to get back to his feet. Very impressive round for Court McGee.

Round 2: Neer checks a McGee head kick, but McGee lands a solid leg kick. Neer misses with a wild right. McGee is all motion. One minute in and they clinch along the fence. Neer escapes, but McGee catches up with him and tags him. Back to center octagon. Midway through the round, McGee’s output is slowing a bit, and Neer connects on both ends of a solid combo. Neer lands an uppercut. They clinch and Neer lands a knee. McGee is back to his high output of punches, which have bloodied Neer around his nose. One minute left. Neer is trying to push through McGee’s relentless output. Neer connects on a knee late. Closer round, but still McGee’s.

Round 3: More of the same to start round three. Neer’s talking to McGee as they trade punches. They end up with Neer with his back to the fence, McGee throwing right hands that aren’t doing much damage. Neer bulls his way out and we’re back in the middle of the cage. Neer hits the mat and ends up on his hands and knees, but is soon back to his feet. McGee bodylocks him against the cage, switches levels, but McGee ends up with the takedown. He lands a couple elbows before McGee tightens up his guard. Ninety seconds left. McGee stands, lands a series of left hands, Neer spins out, and McGee tries to take his back. Final minute. McGee working for a choke, but doesn’t quite get it. McGee stands again. Raining down punches. The fight ends, should be 30-27, though conceivably Neer may have taken the second round.
