This is the UFC 157 undercard live blog for the Rousey vs. Carmouche event at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
There will be seven fights on the undercard. Brendan Schaub vs. Lavar Johnson, Michael Chiesa vs. Anton Kuivanen, Dennis Bermudez vs. Matt Grice, Sam Stout vs. Caros Fodor, Kenny Robertson vs. Brock Jardine, Jon Manley vs. Neil Magny, and Nah-Shon Burrell vs. Yuri Villefortwill be featured on the prelims.

Brendan Schaub vs. Lavar Johnson
Round 1: Jason Herzog is the referee in charge. Both fighters open orthodox. Schaub scores double unders off a failed takedown, but uses it to score one anyway. He's working from Johnson's half guard. Schaub tries to lock up an anaconda choke as Johnson tries to stand and nearly gets it, but Johnson finds a way out of it. Johnson manages to find a way to his feet and trips Schaub to the mat. Schaub uses a heel hook attempt to reverse control and now he's back on top in half guard.

Round 2: The two clinch immediately and Johnson fires hard shots to the body. Schaub hits a knee tap and is back on top in half guard. Referee Herzog stands them up due to a lack of activity. Johnson stuffs a takedown and misses with two huge uppercuts. Knee to the body lands for Schaub as does the blast double. Schaub moves to half guard, but isn't doing much else on top.

Round 3: Schaub tries to clinch and eats an uppercut. Schaub, however, takes Johnson to the mat again. Referee Herzog stands them up for a lack of activity. Johnson charges forward and misses with a punch, so Schaub gets behind him and takes him down like a matador. The referee stands them back up, but Schaub finds himself on top again. He doesn't really do much before the round is over.

Michael Chiesa vs. Anton Kuivanen
Round 1: John McCarthy is the referee. Chiesa opens southpaw while Kuivanen is orthodox. Chiesa scoring with lefts early, but nothing too significant. Inside uppercut and knee as the two clinch for the Fin. Decent middle kick from Chiesa scores, but Kuivanen is unfazed. The two clinch and Chiesa is pressing Kuivanen into the fence. Kuivanen backs out and they separate. Two punches land in a flurry for Kuivanen as he pushes Chiesa back into the fence. Another right straight and left hook lands for Kuivanen. Kuivanen attempts a flying knee, but Chiesa catches him. After a brief scramble, they stand. Chiesa attempts a trip, but Kuivanen whizzers hard.

Round 2: Chiesa ducks under a punch and tries to latch onto a leg and does, but is so far only able to press Kuivanen into the fence. Kuivanen stuffs another takedown attempt along the fence and is pressing Chiesa into the fence. In a scramble along the fence, Chiesa takes Kuivanen's back with one hook. Kuivanen dives to the opposite side to escape, but only solidifies the hold. Chiesa now in full back control and after a bit of hand fighting, scores the rear naked choke.

Dennis Bermudez vs. Matt Grice
Round 1: Bermudez ties up Grice and presses him against the fence. Grice turns him and fails on a takedown attempt, which results in Bermudez in mount after a hard whizzer. Grice eats a ton of shots, but gets out and lands a double of his own. Bermudez stands and now they two are jockeying along the fence. Grice lands a solid left hook. Bermudez reaches for a takedown and can't get it, but eats a right elbow and left hook. Hard right hand from Bermude and he's wobbled Grice a bit, now pressing him into the fence. Grice lands a one-two and then a monster left hook that drops Bermudez. Bermudez fires a kick, but Grice catches it and lands another right hook. Right-left-right charging punch combo lands for Grice before the final bell.

Round 2: Another left hook from Grice finds the mark and Bermudez is trying to press him into the fence. They separate and Grice barely whiffs on a right hook. Stiff jab now by Grice. Bermudez pressing him into the fence. They break and Grice misses on a elbow, but lands a nice left hook. Bermudez presses Grice into the fence and lands a hard elbow over the top. Grice tries to run down a double, but can't get it. Grice tries again and Bermudez stuffs it and even tries to sit for an arm-in guillotine.

Round 3: Bermudez lands an uppercut and drops Grice along the fence. Bermudez on top now in half guard and he's pounding on Grice. Grice is taking a beating, but manages to stand. Bermudez is teeing off on Grice and he's landing everything from leg kicks to punches to head kicks. Grice catches a kick and uses it to get off the fence and hang on to Bermudez. Monster right uppercut from Bermudez. Spinning back kick from Bermudez misses, but Bermudez is still all over him and lands another hard right hand. Grice is barely standing and Bermudez is doing everything he can to put him away. Left hand from Grice finds the mark. Bermudez throws a superman punch and it scores. Both are literally standing in the middle of the cage and trying to kill each other.

Sam Stout vs. Caros Fodor
Round 1: The referee in charge is Jason Herzog. Stout and Fodor clinch, but they separate and Fodor is pressing forward, but eats a one-two. Pressing Stout against the fence, Fodor lands the scoop double. Stout hits a switch and turns the corner to escape. He now presses Fodor into the fence. Fodor attempts an outside trip, but Stout lands inside trip in a counter. Stout moves to half guard on the left side. Stout now moves to mount and now takes Fodor's back. Stout sits out for an armbar, can't get it and barely attempts a kimura before the end of the round.

Round 2: Fodor initiates the clinch, but Stout turns him into the fence. Now they're jockeying for position. Hard right hand from Fodor and now Stout presses Fodor into the fence. Two body shots land in succession for Stout. Two-punch-head kick combo nearly lands for Stout and for sure his follow-up body shots do. Nice left hook now for Stout. Fodor lands two lefts. Stout now pressing Fodor into the fence, but not following with a ton of strikes. Fodor changes levels for a takedown and Stout stuffs it, as well as a follow-up knee to the body. Fodor scores a double leg directly at the end of the round.

Round 3: Stout clinches and presses Fodor into the fence. Outside trip from Fodor, but Stout stands immediately. Right hand finds the mark from Fodor. Inside leg kick from Stout. Fodor changes levels and gets the takedown, but Stout is trying to get to his feet. And he does, but he struggled for it. Inside leg kick from Fodor and he continues to press forward. Two failed trip attempts from Fodor and they're still striking. Left hand from Fodor scores. Stout now pressing Fodor into the fence. Bout ends there.

Kenny Robertson vs. Brock Jardine
Round 1: Robertson gets the takedown after turning the corner, but Jardine has an arm-in guillotine and is applying pressure, but a crossface from Robertson allows him to escape. Robertson hits a knee-cut across pass and takes Jardine's back as he goes base down. He's pounding on Jardine and trying to secure the rear naked choke, but Jardine is defending well. From the back, Robertson yanks one of Jardine's heels that he's planted to secure his base and ends up tapping Jardine with a modified knee bar.

Jon Manley vs. Neil Magny
Round 1: Herb Dean is the referee in charge. Both fighters open orthodox. Manley presses forward and puts Magny against the fence. High crotch lift puts Magny on the mat, but he stands immediately. Manley back to pressing Magny into the fence again. Magny gets separation and lands a right hand. Also a hard outside leg kick. Magny shrugs off another attempt with double underhooks and fires a knee to the body. Plus a jab and a right straight to the body.

Round 2: Manley presses Magny into the fence again and this time is about to lift him to the mat and he's working from side control and Magny reverses him. Manley gets the underhook and gets enough separation to get up, which leads him to pressing Magny into the fence again. Magny scores his own takedown and now he's in side control. Manley hits a deep half sweep, but eats a few shots for his effort. Manley pressing Magny into the fence again. Magny lands a nice combination finishing with an elbow and scores a double leg takedown. Manley tries to stand and he's eating knees.

Round 3: Lead uppercut scores for Magny. Both now exchanging, but neither landing anything significant. Trip takedown from Magny and now he's in side control. Manley recovers guard and now he's posturing for an armbar. Magny steps through Manley's legs and escapes. Magny is back in Manley's guard and he's landing hard shots. Magney takes the back, but loses it and Manley is once again trying to press Magny into the fence. Referee Dean separates them. Hard jab from Magny and now a left hook followed by an outside trip.

Nah-Shon Burrell vs. Yuri Villefort
Round 1: The referee in charge of the action is Jason Herzog. Both fighters open orthodox. Sneaky uppercut and shovel punch by Burrell lands. Villefort catches a kick and take him to the mat. Villefort takes his back and tries to sink a rear naked choke, but Burrell finds a way out of it and scrambles to his feet. Good outside leg kick from Villefort. Burrell lands a hard right to the body and the two trade leg kicks of which Villefort appears to be getting the better of. Nice body-uppercut combination from Burrell, the follows it with a left hook. Burrell drops Villefort and follows him to the ground where he's pounding on him. Villefort sweeps Burrell from deep half guard, but a peak out from Burrell puts him back on top.

Round 2: Villefort with a good outside leg kick, but he eats a right hook from Burrell. Beautiful body shot-leg kick combo from Villefort. Burrell drops Villefort with a punch while he's off balance, so Villefort stands right away. Villefort with a good left hook, but Burrell responds with a hard uppercut. Shovel punch from Burrell. Right hand counter, left hook to the body from Villefort. Good outside leg kick from Burrell. Excellent outside leg kick from Villefort as he stalks Burrell. Right body-head combination. Fun round.

Burrell hits an escape from the waist lock and they're back standing. Hard right hand from Burrell at the end of a combo, but Villefort gets him to the mat. Villefort drops for an inverted heel hook, but he's getting tee'd off on by Burrell. Villefort goes base down and latches onto Burrell's leg and they're both catching their breath. Villefort presses forward and tries to get Burrell to the mat, but he stands. Standing guillotine attempt from Burrell, but he abandons it. He stuffs another takedown and even lands a front kick to the face.
