UFC on FUEL TV 7 Live Blog: Gunnar Nelson vs. Jorge Santiago

This is the UFC on FUEL TV 7 live blog for Gunnar Nelson vs. Jorge Santiago, a welterweight bout at Saturday's UFC event at Wembley Arena in London.

Nelson, who submitted DaMarques Johnson in his UFC debut last September, will face Santiago, who is making his UFC return, on the main card.

Round 1: Marc Goddard is our referee. Nelson lunges in and connects with a combination. Santiago responds with a pair of hard right hands. Nelson tosses out a switch kick, followed by a side kick. Nelson holding his hands incredibly low, barely blocks a head kick. Nelson changes levels and drags Santiago to the floor, landing in half guard. Nelson postures up but can't follow, as Santiago squirms back to his feet. Santiago stalking forward. Santiago changes forward, launching a right hand into Nelson's jaw. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Santiago.

Round 2: Left hand from Nelson lands flush. Nelson clinches and connects with a knee. Hard right hand cracks Santiago against the fence. Nelson drops for a double and gets it. Nelson postures up and passes into half guard. Nelson staying heavy on top. Nelson postures up and drops a left hand down the pipe. Santiago ties up and regains his closed guard. Big elbow from Nelson, and another. Nelson briefly stands before jumping back into Santiago's guard. Nelson advances into side control, then mount. Nelson leaning a heavy elbow onto Santiago's throat. Huge pair of short elbows crush Santiago at the horn. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Nelson.

Round 3: Santiago's face is battered as we enter the final round. Nelson tosses out a high kick. Santiago bulls in, missing with a wild combination. Santiago blocks a head kick, then another. Nelson cracks Santiago with a right hand. Santiago ties up, unloads a few knees against the fence, then eats a right hand for his troubles. Santiago charges forward and connects with a few wild shots. Huge counter uppercut rocks Santiago. Nelson cracks him again and Santiago looks dazed. Santiago seems to have nothing left. Nelson blasts Santiago with a right hand. Santiago throws out one last desperation flurry and Nelson eats a huge right hand at the horn. Wild fight. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Nelson.
