Danny Mitchell vs. Igor Araujo slated for UFC Fight Night card in England

Guilherme Cruz, MMA Fighting

England’s own Danny Mitchell is set to make his UFC debut in 2014.

Five years after his professional MMA debut, Mitchell has signed a deal with the UFC and is set to enter the Octagon for the first time on March 8 at The O2 Arena in London, England, in a welterweight bout against Igor Araujo.

Sources close to the situation revealed the news to MMAFighting.com on Monday.

Mitchell (14-4-1) enters the cage following a second-round submission victory over UFC veteran Besam Yousef at Superior Challenge in Sweden. Coming off back-to-back stoppage wins, Mitchell has suffered losses to Kendall Grove and Gunnar Nelson.

Araujo (24-6, 1 no-contest) earned a chance in the UFC after competing at TUF 16. The Brazilian was initially released from the promotion after the TV show, but re-signed to take on Ildemar Alcantara at UFC Fight Night 29 in Brazil. Araujo, who won 13 of his last 14 bouts, defeated "Marajo" by decision.

UFC’s next card in England will be headlined by the light heavyweight showdown featuring Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa.
