This is the UFC Fight Night 33 undercard live blog for the UFC Fight Night 33 event at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

There will be five fights on the UFC Fight Night 33 undercard. Takeya Mizugaki vs. Nam Phan, Nick Ring vs. Caio Magalhaes, Richie Vaculik vs. Justin Scoggins, Bruno Santos vs. Krzyzstof Jotko, and Ben Wall vs. Alex Garcia will be featured on the prelims.

Ben Wall vs. Alex Garcia

Round 1: The referee is Cameron Quinn. Both fighters open orthodox. Garcia lands a left hook backing up and a blitzing uppercut. Garcia stops a single and is finding a home for the right hand. Garcia cracks Wall with just a thudding uppercut that drops Wall forward and before he can land, Garcia cracks him with another right. That's all she wrote. Wall is out cold.

Bruno Santos vs. Krzysztof Jotko

Round 1: The referee in charge is John Sharp. Jotko opens southpaw while Santos is orthodox. Both fighters exchange body kicks with Santos getting the better of it. Jotko reaches with a left and it lands, but he eats a left leg kick for his efforts. Santos reaches for a takedown, but can't get it as he presses Jotko into the fence. Santos attempts an outside trip, but Jotko countered by using it as an inside trip and landed on top. Both fighters stand, but Jotko is whipped around off a failed trip, although he recovers and is back to pressing Santos into the fence. Santos briefly lands a takedown, but as Jotko recovers he eats a right hand. The referee breaks them up. Santos presses Jotko into the fence.

Round 2: Jotko scores with an outside leg kick as Santos stalks. Lunging body shot lands for Santos, but he is hit with a short right hand. Santos clinches again with Jotko and is pressing him into the fence. They separate and there's not a lot of action happening here. Jotko lands with a left and counter right, but Santos does score with a shot of his own and is now clinching again against the fence. Jotko reverses and is pressing Santos into the fence. Just before the bell, a short left from Jotko drops Santos and the Brazilian is now eating a fair number of shots.

Round 3: Jotko is the aggressor and pressing Santos into the fences, but Santos changes fortunes, lifts Jotko and dumps him to the mat. He's now working from Jotko's guard. Santos hits a knee cut pass and is in side control. Jotko tries to escape and Santos takes his back. Jotko, however, spins into him and is now working on top. Santos tries an arm triangle from his own full guard, but he doesn't have it. Jotko lands a nice elbow as the round expires.

Richie Vaculik vs. Justin Scoggins

Round 1: Scoggins opens southpaw while Vaculik is orthodox and right away Scoggins is kicking from the side. He's in on a single and uses it to snatch Vaculik to the mat. He's working from Vaculik's open guard. Vaculik uses an underhook to stand, but Scoggins cracks him with a right hook as he tries to scramble away. Vaculik is up on his feet again, but Scoggins is all over him. Hard elbow from Scoggins as he pummels in and lands a snatch double against the fence. Scoggins moves to mount. but Vaculik hip escapes. Scoggins beats him in a scramble again and takes the back. Scoggins is all over him and the referee stops it as Vaculik is recovering position. Questionable stoppage, although Scoggins was giving him the business.

Nick Ring vs. Caio Magalhaes

Round 1: The referee in charge of the action is Cameron Quinn. Ring is southpaw while Magalhaes is orthodox. Inside leg kick for Ring, but the Brazilian responds with a body kick. Ring scores an outside leg kick, but eats a right hand counter for Magalhaes. An eye poke temporarily stops the action, but the bout is quickly re-started. Outside leg kick now for Magalhaes. Ring initiates a 50/50 clinch along the fence, but they separate. Magalhaes shoots a double with no set-up and Ring easily stuffs it. They stay clinched as they stand, however, and Magalhaes is pressuring the Canadian into the fence. Ring secures a Thai clinch and is landing several hard knees to both sides of Magalhaes' body. Two hard elbows from Ring and he's in on a single, which works. Ring wins a takedown scramble and ends up on top, but the Brazilian recovers base and they stand before the end of the round.

Round 2: Magalhaes shoots from a million miles away and is easily stuffed. Ring tries a counter shot, can't get it, but changes the angle on it perpendicularly and gets it. Ring attempts a cross-body Americana, but can't get it and is reversed. Ring trying to stay active on bottom with a butterfly guard, but moves to full guard. Magalhaes landing some shots on top, but nothing significant. Ring attempting to create space and off balance moments for a sweep, but can't quite get there. Ring is working wrist control for a triangle, but can't quite get it.

Round 3: Front body kick for Magalhaes as well as an outside leg kick. And another. The fighters trade a number of shots, most of them missing. Two-punch combo scores for Magalhaes and the Brazilian is on top of an exhausted Ring in the Canadian's butterfly guard. Strangely, the ref stands them up, but Ring is trying to finish a double and can't quite get there. And in a scramble, the referee is standing them up.  And they're right back where they found themselves before as Ring is in on a shot. Magalhaes moves hip to hip and lands hammerfists as the round ends.

Caio Magalhaes def. Nick Ring (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Takeya Mizugaki vs. Nam Phan

Round 1: Both fighters open orthodox and they're swinging early with Pham scoring a nice liver shot. Mizugaki returns the favor. And another. And another. Mizugaki is far more active and uses a flurry to change levels into a double against the fence. Phan goes down, but is trying to stand and eats monster right hands on the way up. Mizugaki in on another double, which he secures. Phan gets to his feet again, but not without another crushing right hand from Mizugaki. Mizugaki scores two rights and now a left and a body shot. And another. And another plus an overhand right.

Round 2: Mizugaki charges in behind a barrage of punches and fails on a takedown, but is all over Phan. A left hook absolutely ROCKS Phan and Mizugaki pours it on with a huge flurry of punches. The pace of the fight slows and Mizugaki's shot is repelled by Phan. Phan scores with a right and is in on a single, but can't get it. Phan locks up a kimura grip, but Mizugaki is behind him and manages to drag him to the mat temporarily. Good left hook to the body for Phan. And another. And a left hook that cracks Mizugaki. Two-punch combo works for the Japanese fighter.

Round 3: Phan lands a sneaky left over the top, but Mizugaki drills a body shot home. Mizugaki in on a shot, but can't get it and he eats a hard left. Mizugaki is hurt, but still standing. The fighters trade hard lefts and Phan scores another liver shot. Mizugaki stuns Phan with a left of his own. And now Phan returns with two lefts to crack Mizugaki. Two hard lefts to the body and head from Mizugaki. Both fighters catch the other off balance. Mizugaki and Phan are trading shot for shot and Phan sprawls out on a takedown attempt from Mizugaki. Thudding left hook from Mizugaki stuns Phan. The two end the round trading punches.
