Holly Holm set to fight for inaugural Legacy FC title

Legacy FC

Holly Holm's next fight will not be in the UFC.

Holm has agreed to meet Julianna Werner for the inaugural Legacy Fighting Championship women's bantamweight title, Legacy FC president Mick Maynard informed MMAFighting.com. Maynard said the fight is tentatively scheduled for Legacy 30 on April 5 in Albuquerque, N.M.

The 32-year-old Holm, a former multiple-time boxing champion with a 33-3-2 record, is 6-0 in MMA. She has drawn the interest of the UFC but has yet to come to terms with the promotion.

"We have talked to the UFC a few times already," her long-time coach Mike Winkeljohn recently told MMAFighting.com. "We're just a little far apart on making the deal. We're just waiting for the UFC to make the right deal, and we're ready to go."

She still has two more fights left on her Legacy FC contract, but there's a clause in the deal that allows her to sign with the UFC whenever she wants.

Werner (7-3) is multiple-time kickboxing champion with a record of 24-3.

Holm has fought the majority of her boxing and MMA career in her hometown of Albuquerque, where she is a big draw.
