If there are more bizarre finishes in mixed martial arts, they don't get too much more bizarre than that.
At UFC Fight for the Troops 3 (UFC Fight Night 31) in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Bobby Green was declared the winner by TKO via body kick over James Krause. Except, nothing about that explains what happens.

Green and Krause spent the majority of the early part of the round feeling one another out, measuring distance and attempting combinations. Green, however, would land a groin kick that temporarily halt the action. Not more than a minute later, Green landed another groin shot that also stopped the bout. At that point, referee 'Big' John McCarthy took one point from Affliction veteran, but let the fight continue.
That's where things got weird.
A third strike from Green that audibly made contact with the cup yet also touched the belt line of Krause folded the midwest native. Krause responded as if he'd been hit with a third groin kick and went face down, covering up on his knees. At that point McCarthy ended the fight.
Yet, it wasn't a disqualification McCarthy was calling. The referee ruled it a legal shot and ended it, ostensibly, because Krause covered up and showed Green his back. Despite three questionable strikes, Green was declared the winner via TKO at 3:50 of the first frame.
Green moves to 21-5 while Krause slides to 20-5.
