Romero vs. Brunson set for UFC Fight Night 35

A middleweight clash between Yoel Romero and Derek Brunson is scheduled for UFC Fight Night 35 on Jan. 15 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga.

UFC officials announced the fight Tuesday.

Brunson is 2-0 in his UFC career, including a submission (rear-naked choke) win over Brian Houston at UFC: Fight for the Troops 3 this past November.

Yoel Romero is also 2-0 in his UFC career, knocking out Ronny Markes in the third round in his last Octagon appearance at the Fight for the Troops 3 event.

A lightweight fight between Vinc Pichel (7-1) and Garett Whiteley (7-1) was also announced for the card. Luke Rockhold will face Constantinos Philippou in the main event.
