UFC 170 finally has a main event and it's a big one.
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is set to defend his title against top contender Glover Teixeira in the main event at UFC 170. That contest is set to for February 22, 2014 and will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The news comes from UFC President Dana White, which was first reported by Ariel Helwani on Wednesday's UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 2.
Jones, 26, was initially expected to face Teixeira, 34, at UFC 169 on February 1st, but in October, White said that bout for that event was not official. Until this report, no follow-up date was known or suggested for when Jones vs. Teixeira might take place.
The champion enters this contest with a record of 19-1, having most recently competed at UFC 165 in September where he earned a unanimous decision over Alexander Gustafsson. Teixeira holds a professional record of 22-2 and in his last bout defeated Ryan Bader via first-round TKO.
