Julie Kedzie has a new opponent for her second UFC fight.
Initially expected to face undefeated Aleksandra Albu at UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane, Australia, Kedzie meets undefeated Brazilian bantamweight Bethe Correia on Dec. 7 after Albu was forced out of the fight with an injury.
UFC Fight Night 33 takes place at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, and features the heavyweight contest Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva in the main event.
Correira (6-0), nicknamed "Pitbull", trains with Bellator’s Pitbull brothers, Patricio and Patricky Freire, in Brazil. The Brazilian’s last fight took place at Jungle Fight 54 last June, when she defeated Erica Paes, the only women to hold a victory over Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg.
Kedzie (16-12), a MMA veteran who once won three fights in one night to win the HOOKnSHOOT tournament in 2005, seven years before Correia made her MMA debut, is currently riding a 3-fight losing streak. In her only UFC appearance, Kedzie suffered a split decision loss to Germaine de Randamie.
