A women's MMA pioneer will welcome a UFC rookie to the Octagon in December.
Julie Kedzie will meet Aleksandra Albu at UFC Fight Night 33 on Dec. 6 at the Brisbane Entertainment Center in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, the promotion announced on Tuesday.
Kedzie (16-12), who began her MMA career in 2004, lost her UFC debut in July to Germaine de Randamie via split decision. The loss marked the 32-year-old's third in a row.
Albu, a member of the Red Fury Fight Team along with fellow Russian fighters Khabib Nurmagomedov, Adlan Amagov and newly-signed Adam Khaliev, enters the UFC a perfect 5-0 (although it should be noted that Sherdog.com's Fight Finder has her listed as 1-0). Nicknamed "Stitch," the 23-year-old is a black belt in karate.
UFN 33 will be headlined by Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva, and it will air live in the United States on FOX Sports 1.
