Mike Pierce on Rousimar Palhares fight: 'I'm just really pissed off right now'

By now you've heard all about Rousimar Palhares. His bonus was withheld. He's unemployed. He's perplexed.

But what about Mike Pierce? What about the guy who was tapping feverishly while Palhares appeared to be cranking on his leg?

"I'm just really pissed off right now," he wrote to via text message Friday morning as he was making his way home to Portland, Oregon from Brazil.

Pierce said he will schedule an MRI to find out if he suffered a serious leg injury once he gets home. He hasn't talked to anyone since Palhares held on to a heel-hook submission long after he tapped Wednesday night in Brazil at UFC Fight Night 29, and he declined to comment on the turn of events, as well as Palhares' subsequent release until he had the MRI done.

For now, Pierce just wants to get home.
