It has been one wild ride this year as far as injuries go. Around the middle of the year I decided to create a list of the injuries that have plagued just about every event. Keep in mind that these are only the injuries that were reported by the UFC or fighters themselves and therefore the MMA media. There are most likely a number of injuries that occurred in the very early stages of planning and some that simply were not reported.

I've also included non injury related card changes such as illness before fights, arrests, visa issues, and surprise retirements. Those will be in italics.

I appreciate any input for any injuries or card changes I may have missed and I plan to continue these in the upcoming years.

UFC 142: Aldo Vs. Mendes (4)

Siyar Bahadurzada was expected to face Erick Silva, with Carlo Prater stepping in as a replacement for Bahadurzada due to an undisclosed injury.

Rob Broughton was expected to face Ednaldo Oliveira, but Gabriel Gonzaga replaced Broughton due to an undisclosed injury.

Paulo Thiago was scheduled to face Mike Pyle, but pulled out of the bout due to an undisclosed injury and was replaced by Ricardo Funch

Stanislav Nedkov was scheduled to take on Fabio Maldonado at this event, but visa problems forced Nedkov to withdraw from the bout.

Caio Magalhaes stepped in as a replacement for Nedkov however, Maldonado was injured less than a week before his fight with Magalhaes and the bout was scratched from the card.

UFC on FX 1: Guillard Vs. Miller (5)

Mike Brown was expected to face Vagner Rocha but Brown withdrew due to injury, no replacement was found and the fight was scrapped.

Rafaello Oliveira was expected to face Reza Medadi, Oliveira was forced out of a bout with an injury and replaced by Fabrício Camões.

Madadi would later withdraw from the bout with Camoes due to injury and was replaced by Tommy Hayden.

Ryan Jimmo was expected to fight Karlos Vemola but Jimmo was forced from the bout with an injury, no replacement was found and the bout was scrapped.

Ken Stone was expected to face Mike Easton however, Stone was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced byJared Papazian

Charles Olivera was expected to face Robbie Peralta but the fight was scrapped for undisclosed reasons.

UFC on Fox 2: Evans Vs. Davis (4)

A bout between Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Wineland was originally scheduled for this event, however Johnson was pulled from the bout to be a participant in the UFC Flyweight tournament.

Eddie Wineland was then expected to face Johnny Bedford at this event, however Wineland was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Mitch Gagnon.

Just days before the event, the bout between Bedford and Gagnon was cancelled due to an alleged visa issue for Gagnon.

Paul Sass was expected to face Evan Dunham, but was forced from the bout with an injury and replaced by Nik Lentz.

Cody McKenzie was expected to face Michael Johnson, but was forced from the bout with an injury and replaced byShane Roller.

Mark Munoz was expected to face Chael Sonnen but was forced out of the bout with an injury, and was replaced byMichael Bisping, who was pulled from a scheduled fight with Demian Maia.

Chris Weidman would replace Michael Bisping to face Demian Maia.

UFC 143: Condit Vs. Diaz (6)

Georges St-Pierre was expected to face Nick Diaz but withdrew from the fightt due to a torn ACL, Condit fought Nick Diaz in the headliner for the Interim title. Condit was originally scheduled to face Josh Koscheck.

Josh Koscheck was originally scheduled to face Carlos Condit, however Condit was moved to the main event to face Nick Diaz, he was replaced by Mike Pierce.

Erik Koch was expected to face Dustin Poirier but Koch withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Max Holloway

Amir Sadollah was expected to face Jorge Lopez but pulled out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury and was replaced by Matt Riddle.

Jorge Lopez also withdrew due to an undisclosed injury and was replaced by Henry Martinez.

Mike Stumpf was expected to face Justin Edwards but pulled out due to an undisclosed injury, Stumpf was replaced byStephen Thompson.

Justin Edwards also withdrew from the card with an undisclosed injury and was replaced by Daniel Stittgen.

UFC on Fuel TV 1: Ellenburger Vs. Sanchez (2)

Bernardo Magalhães was expected to face Yoislandy Izquierdo, but Izquierdo was pulled from the bout due to contractual issues with his former promotion, CFA

Roni Yahya was scheduled to face Jonathan Brookins, but withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Vagner Rocha

Sean Loeffler was slated to face Buddy Roberts but the bout was scrapped entirely due to Loeffler's pre-existing injury, no replacement was made.

UFC 144: Edgar Vs. Henderson (2)

George Sotiropoulos was expected to face Takanori Gomi, but was forced out of the bout with an undisclosed injury and replaced byEiji Mitsuoka.

Leonard Garcia was expected to face Zhang Tiequan, but was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced byIssei Tamura.

UFC on FX 2: Alves Vs. Kampmann (2)

Jared Hamman was expected to face Kyle Noke, but withdrew from the bout due to an injury, Hamman was replaced byAndrew Craig.

Robbie Peralta was expected to rematch Mackens Semerzier but pulled out of the bout due to an injury. Semerzier faced Daniel Pineda.

UFC on Fuel TV 2: Gustaffson Vs. Silva (3)

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira pulled out of the Gustafsson fight due to an injury and was replaced by Thiago Silva.

Jorgen Kruth was expected to face Cyrille Diabate but was forced to withdraw due to injury and was replaced by Tom DeBlass

Akira Corassani was slated to fight Jason Young but withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Eric Wisely.

UFC 145: Jones Vs. Evans (1)

Matt Wiman was expected to face Mark Bocek, but was forced off the card with an injury and replaced by John Alessio.

UFC on Fox 3: Diaz Vs. Miller (4)

Dennis Hallman was expected to face Tony Ferguson, but Hallman was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Thiago Tavares.

Tavares was also forced from the bout with an injury and replaced by Michael Johnson.

Darren Uyenoyama was expected to face John Dodson, but Uyenoyama was forced out of the bout and was replaced by Tim Elliott.

Johnny Bedford was expected to face Nick Denis, but Bedford was forced out of the bout with an injury and was replaced by Roland Delorme.

UFC on Fuel TV 3: Korean Zombie Vs. Poirier (6)

Brandon Vera was briefly scheduled to face Thiago Silva however, Vera was forced out of the bout with an injury. Igor Pokrajac stepped in to fight Silva.

Silva was subsequently pulled from the bout to replace an injured Antônio Rogério Nogueira against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on Fuel TV 2. Pokrajac faced Fabio Maldonado.

Yves Edwards was expected to face Donald Cerrone, but Edwards was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Jeremy Stephens.

Mike Easton was expected to face Yves Jabouin, but Easton was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced byJeff Hougland who was previously expected to face Renan Barão at UFC 148.

Aaron Riley was expected to face Cody McKenzie at the event, but Riley was pulled from the event with an injury and replaced by Marcus LeVesseur.

Azamat Gashimov was expected to make his promotional debut against Alex Soto. However, Gashimov was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Francisco Rivera.

UFC 146: Dos Santos Vs. Mir (2)

Evan Dunham was expected to face Edson Barboza however, Dunham was forced from the event with an injury and replaced by Jamie Varner.

Mark Hunt was originally scheduled to face Stefan Struve on the main card. Hunt withdrew from the bout due to injury and was replaced by Lavar Johnson.

Alistair Overeem was scheduled to face Junior dos Santos but tested for an elevated T/E Ratio prior to the bout, he was replaced by Frank Mir.

Cain Velasquez (originally slated to fight Mir in the co-main event) would face Antonio Silva.

Roy Nelson (originally slated to fight Silva, and then briefly Gabriel Gonzaga) faced Dave Herman.

Shane del Rosario (originally slated to fight Gonzaga) faced Stipe Miočić.

TUF 15 Finale (1)

Byron Bloodworth was slated to fight John Albert but was forced to withdraw with an injury, Bloodworth was replaced byErik Perez.

UFC on FX 4: Maynard Vs. Guida (6)

Rich Attonito was expected to face Rick Story however, Attonito was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Papy Abedi.

Papy Abedi was also forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Brock Jardine.

Jimy Hettes was expected to face Steven Siler however, Hettes was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Joey Gambino.

Matthew Riddle was expected to face Luis Ramos, Riddle was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced byMatt Brown.

Edwin Figueroa was expected to face Ken Stone at the event. Figueroa was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Francisco Rivera.

Rivera himself was injured and was replaced by Dustin Pague, who had just fought at UFC on FX 3 two weeks prior to this event.

UFC 147: Silva Vs. Franklin II (2)

Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen II was expected to take place in a stadium in Rio de Janeiro, however the fight was moved to UFC 148 and the venue was changed due to poor event planning (United Nations Conference).

Vitor Belfort was expected to face Wanderlei Silva but was forced to pull out of the card after breaking his left hand while training. Silva will now face Rich Franklin in a 190 lb catchweight bout.

Daniel Sarafian was expected to face Cezar "Mutante" Ferreira in the TUF Brazil Middleweight Championship bout, but pulled out with an arm injury, he will be replaced by Sergio Moraes.

UFC 148: Silva Vs. Sonnen II (2)

Urijah Faber was expected to fight for the UFC Bantamweight Championship against champion Dominick Cruz but a torn ACL forced Cruz off the card.

Faber was expected to face replacement Renan Barão for the Interim Bantamweight Championship, but that fight has been promoted to the main event of UFC 149 in Calgary.

Ivan Menjivar was originally scheduled to face Renan Barao, but Menjivar will now face Mike Easton.

Rich Franklin was expected to return to middleweight with a bout against Cung Le at the event. Franklin was pulled from the bout with Le and is now scheduled to rematch Wanderlei Silva UFC 147.

Cung Le is now expected to face Patrick Cote.

UFC on Fuel 4: Munoz Vs. Weidman (3)

Paul Taylor was expected to face Anthony Njokuani however, Taylor was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Rafael dos Anjos.

Jon Fitch was expected to face Aaron Simpson however, Fitch pulled out of the bout citing a knee injury and was replaced by Kenny Robertson.

Brandon Vera was expected to face James Te-Huna however, Vera was pulled from the bout with Te-Huna and is now expected to face Maurício Rua at UFC on Fox 4.Te-Huna will now face Joey Beltran

Nick Penner was scheduled to face Tom DeBlass but Penner was forced out of the bout with an undisclosed injury. The bout was scrapped entirely from the card.

UFC 149: Faber Vs. Barao (9)

The bout between Michael Bisping and Tim Boetsch, originally scheduled for UFC 148, was moved to this event to help bolster the UFC 149 fight card.

Bisping was forced out of the bout with Boetsch due to injury and was replaced by Hector Lombard.

Yoshihiro Akiyama was expected to face Thiago Alves, but was forced to pull out of the fight due to injury and replaced by Siyar Bahadurzada.

Then Alves pulled out of the bout with an injury and was replaced by Chris Clements.

Siyar Bahadurzada was then injured and pulled from the fight, Chris Clements will face Matt Riddle.

Thiago Silva was expected to face Maurício Rua at the event. Silva was forced out of the bout with an injury and Rua was pulled from the event entirely, and will face Brandon Vera at UFC on Fox 4.

Bibiano Fernandes was expected to compete against Roland Delorme but was forced out of the bout after unsuccessful negotiations with the UFC, he was replaced by Francisco Rivera.

The UFC Interim Bantamweight Championship fight between Urijah Faber and Renan Barao was re-scheduled as the main event of the fight.

Jose Aldo was expected to face Erik Koch but was removed from the event due to injury. The fight has been moved to the main event of UFC 153.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira was expected to face Cheick Kongo, Big Nog was forced from the card due to complications from his prior arm injury at UFC 140 and was replaced by Shawn Jordan

George Roop was expected to face Antonio Carvalho, but Roop was forced out of the bout with an injury, he will be replaced by Daniel Pineda.

Claude Patrick was expected to face James Head but was forced from the bout with an injury, James Head will now face Brian Ebersole.

UFC on Fox 4: Shogun Vs. Vera (6)

Mauricio Rua will now headline against Brandon Vera, both being pulled from fights on earlier cards.

Chad Griggs was expected to face Phil Davis at the event. Griggs was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Wagner Prado.

Stann was expected to face Hector Lombard. However, Stann was forced out of the bout citing a shoulder injury. Lombard will now face Tim Boetsch at UFC 149.

Pablo Garza was forced to withdraw from his fight against Josh Grispi due to injury, Grispi will now face Rani Yahya.

Terry Etim was slated to fight Joe Lauzon, but Etim was forced out of the bout with an injury. He will be replaced by Jamie Varner.

Ian McCall was expected to face John Moraga, but McCall withdrew from the bout for undisclosed reasons. Moraga will face Ulysses Gomez.

Rob Broughton was expected to face Matt Mitrione but Broughton withdrew from the bout to deal with personal issues, the bout has been rescheduled for UFC on FX 5.

Ben Rothwell was expected to face Travis Browne but Rothwell withdrew due to an ankle injury. The bout was scrapped completely after Devin Cole was briefly rumored to be filling in for Rothwell.

Travis Browne will now headline against Antonio Silva at UFC on FX 5.

Swick Vs. Johnson was promoted to the main card.

UFC 150: Henderson Vs. Edgar II (3)

Luiz Cane was expected to face Yushin Okami, but withdrew due to injury, Cane will be replaced by Rousimar Palhares.

Rousimar was forced from the Okami bout with an undisclosed injury.

Chris Camozzi was expected to face Buddy Roberts, Camozzi was forced from the bout with an injury. Buddy Roberts will now replace Palhares to face Yushin Okami.

Dennis Hallman was expected to face Thiago Tavares on this card but the bout was moved to UFC 151 in order to bolster the card. Shortly after the change, the fight was moved back to UFC 150.

UFC 151: Jones Vs. Henderson "The Event That Jon Jones and Greg Jackson Murdered" - Dana White (2)

This event has been canceled due to Jones' refusal to fight Chael P. Sonnen on short notice and the lack of strength on the undercard.

Josh Koscheck was expected to face Jake Ellenberger in the co main event, but Koscheck was forced to withdraw with a bulging disc in his back. Jake Ellenberger will now face Jay Hieron.

Dan Henderson was expected to face Jon Jones, but Henderson was forced out with a partial tear in his MCL, Jones refused to fight Chael Sonnen and the entire card was subsequently cancelled. Jones will now face Machida at UFC 152 in Toronto.

Kyle Noke Vs. Charlie Brenneman has been moved to UFC 152

Shane Roller Vs. Jacob Volkmann has been moved to UFC on FX 5

Danny Castillo Vs. Micheal Johnson has been moved to UFC on FX 5

UFC 152: Jones Vs. Belfort (3)

Rory MacDonald was expected to face BJ Penn but MacDonald was forced to withdraw with a gash above his eye. The fight has been moved to UFC on Fox 5.

Roger Hollet was expected to face Matt Hamill, however Hollet was forced out of the bout due to contractual conflicts with Bellator and replaced by Vladimir Matyushenko.

Vladimir Matyushenko suffered a torn achille's tendon, and the original fight between Roger Hollet and Matt Hamill was remade.

Dan Miller was expected to face Sean Pierson but Miller withdrew to focus on his son's kidney transplant, Pierson will now face Lance Benoist.

Lyoto Machida was announced to face Jon Jones but turned down the fight as well as Mauricio Shogun Rua, Jones will now face Vitor Belfort.

UFC on Fuel 5: Struve vs. Miocic (2)

Jorgen Kruth was expected to face Fabio Maldonado but Kruth withdrew, deciding to retire from MMA. Fabio will now face Cyrille Diabate at UFC 154.

After briefly being scheduled to face Cyrille Diabate at UFC 154, Fabio Maldonado was pulled from the fight in order to face Glover Texiera at UFC 153, a replacement to fight Diabate has not yet been determined.

Pascal Krauss was expected to face Gunnar Nelson by withdrew due to severely bruised ribs, an inflamed chest muscle and a dislocated vertebra, Gunnar Nelson will now face Rich Attonito.

Rich Attonito withdrew from the replacement fight against Gunnar Nelson over concerns with making weight, Gunnar Nelson will now face DeMargques Johnson.

UFC on FX 5: Browne Vs. Bigfoot (1)

Louis Gaudinot was expected to face Darren Uyenoyama but Gaudinot withdrew due to injury, he will be replaced byPhil Harris.

Jake Ellenberger Vs. Jay Hieron has been moved to the co main event of this card from UFC 151.

Phil Davis was expected to rematch Wagner Prado after their first bout was stopped due to an accidental eye poke, this bout has been moved to UFC 153.

Rob Broughton was expected to face Matt Mitrione but withdrew due to undisclosed circumstances, Matt Mitrione will now face Phil de Fries at UFC 155.

Dennis Hallman was expected to face Thiago Tavares but Hallman was unable to make weight, nor a further weight that was agreed to by Tavares, the fight has been pulled from the card.

Jeremy Stevens was expected to face Yves Edwards however Stevens was arrested on the day of the event and the fight was removed from the card. Edwards will face John Cholish at UFC on Fox 5.

UFC 153: Silva Vs. Bonnar (4)

Vitor Belfort was expected to face Alan Belcher but Belfort was pulled to face Jon Jones at UFC 152.

Alan Belcher was expected to remain on the card but withdrew due to a spinal fracture.

Eric Koch was expected to face Jose Aldo but withdrew due to a knee injury, Koch will be replaced by Frankie Edgar.

Jose Aldo was forced out of the bout with Edgar due to a foot injury, Edgar has been pulled from this card and the matchup is expected to be made at a later time.

Rampage Jackson was expected to face Glover Teixeira but Rampage pulled out due to an elbow injury, Rampage will be replaced by Fabio Maldonado.

Anderson Silva Vs. Stephan Bonnar has been booked as the main event of this card.

Geronimo dos Santos was expected to face Gabriel Gonzaga but dos Santos withdrew due to a positive test result for Hepatitis B, the fight has been removed from the card.

UFC on Fuel 6: Franklin Vs. Le (2)

Marcello Guimaraes was expected to face Hyun Gyu Lim but Guimaraes withdrew due to an undisclosed injury, Hyun will now face David Mitchell.

Kyung Ho Kang was slated to fight Alex Caceres but withdrew due to an undisclosed injury, he will be replaced byMotonobu Tezuka.

Hyun Gyu Lim was expected to face David Mitchell but Lim was unable to get clearance by UFC doctors prior to the weigh in, believed to be related to his weight cut. The fight has been pulled entirely from the card.

UFC 154: St. Pierre Vs. Condit (1)

Stephen Thompson was slated to fight Besam Yousef but Thompson withdrew due to a knee injury, Yousef will now face Matt Riddle.

Nick Ring was expected to face Costa Philippou but Ring became ill hours before the event and was not cleared by the UFC's doctor. The fight has been scrapped completely.

UFC on Fox 5: Henderson Vs. Diaz (8)

Rafaello Oliveira was slated to fight Micheal Chiesa but Oliveira withdrew from the bout with a hand injury, he will be replaced by Marcus LeVassuer.

TJ Dillashaw was expected to face Mike Easton but withdrew due to an undisclosed injury, Easton will now face Bryan Caraway.

Bryan Caraway also withdrew due to injury, Mike Easton will now face Raphael Assuncao.

Eddie Yagin was expected to face Dennis Siver but Yagin withdrew due to a head injury involving swelling around his brain, no replacement has been determined yet.

John Cholish was expected to face Yves Edwards but Cholish withdrew due to a groin injury. Edwards will now face Jeremy Stevens in a bout that had been previously scrapped at UFC on FX 5 due to Stevens' arrest.

Lavar Johnson was expected to face Brendan Shaub but Johnson withdrew due to a pulled groin, this fight has been moved to UFC 157.

Michael Chiesa was expected to face Marcus LeVasseur but Chiesa withdrew due to illness the week of the fight, no replacement was made on such short notice.

Tim Means was expected to face Abel Trujillo but Means sustained a head injury by slipping in the sauna while cutting weight, he will be replaced by Marcus Levasseur.

UFC on FX 6: Pearson Vs. Sotiropolus (3)

Kyle Noke was slated to fight Seth Baczynski but Noke withdrew due to an undisclosed injury, Noke will be replaced by Mike Pierce.

Anthony Perosh was expected to face Joey Beltran but Perosh withdrew due to a severe toe injury, he will be replaced by Igor Pokrajac.

Hacran Dias was expected to face Chad Mendes but Dias withdrew with an undisclosed injury, he will be replaced byYaotzin Meza.

TUF Finale 16 (2)

Shane Carwin was expected to face Roy Nelson but Carwin finally succumbed the a knee injury that was sustained months ago. He will be replaced by Matt Mitrione.

Jamie Varner was expected to face Melvin Guillard but Varner fell ill hours before the fight and as a result was not cleared to fight. The fight has been rescheduled for UFC 155.

UFC 155: Dos Santos Vs. Velasquez II (5)

Chael Sonnen was expected to face Forrest Griffin but Sonnen was pulled from the fight in order to coach at TUF 17 against Jon Jones in the lead up to their title fight on April 27th. Phil Davis will now fight Forrest Griffin.

Gray Maynard was expected to face Joe Lauzon but Maynard withdrew due to an undisclosed injury, he will be replaced by Jim Miller.

Erik Koch Vs. Ricardo Lamas has been moved from this card to UFC on Fox 6.

Matt Mitrione was expected to face Phil De Fries but Mitrione was pulled from the fight in order to replace Shane Carwin at the TUF 16 Finale, De Fries will now face Todd Duffee.

Chris Weidman was expected to face Tim Boetsch but Weidman withdrew due to a shoulder injury, he will be replaced by Costa Philippou.

Forrest Griffin was expected to face Phil Davis but Griffin withdrew due to a knee injury, Davis has been pulled from the card as no replacement has been made.

Cody McKenzie was expected to face Leonard Garcia but Cody withdrew from the fight due to an undisclosed injury, he will be replaced by Max Holloway.

Karlos Vemola was expected to face Chris Leben but Vemola withdrew from the fight due to an undisclosed injury, he will be replaced by Derek Brunson.

Mike Goldberg was expected to commentate at UFC 155 but withdrew from the job due to illness, he will be replaced by Jon Anik.

Johnny Eduardo was expected to face Yuri Alcantara but Eduardo withdrew due to undisclosed circumstances that are not believed to be injury related, he will be replaced by George Roop.

Thiago Bodao was expected to face Caio Magalhaes but Bodao withdrew due to an undisclosed injury, he will be replaced by Michael Kuiper.
