UFC lightweights better begin taking note of Khabib Nurmagomedov. The 24-year-old Russian has yet to meet his match in the mixed martial arts world, and at Saturday night's UFC on FX 7, Thiago Tavares was his latest victim.

Nurmagomedov dropped Tavares early on and then swarmed with a hail of vicious elbows, a series that led to the finish.

The end came at 1:55 of the first round, and truth be told, referee Dan Miragliotta stepped in late.

Tavares came out looking to control the cage, taking the center and cutting off Nurmagomedov's angles, and was briefly successful in doing so, but everything changed with a right hand that sent Tavares to the mat. Nurmagomedov quickly pounced, and from side control, absolutely unloaded with a finish in his sights. It wasn't long in coming.

The victory sent him to 19-0 overall and 3-0 in the UFC. He's also beaten Kamal Shalorus and Gleison Tibau since joining the promotion.

Tavares, who had come into the fight on his best UFC run -- 3-1 in his last four including victories over Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher -- feel to 17-5-1.
