Strikeforce Live Blog: Ronaldo Souza vs. Derek Brunson

This is the Strikeforce live blog for Ronaldo Souza vs. Derek Brunson, a middleweight bout at Saturday night's event at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.

Souza, who has won five of his last six Strikeforce fights, will fight Brunson, who has won his three Strikeforce fights, on the main card.

Round 1: Mike Beltran is the referee for this one. Brunson whiffs on a high kick and follows with a kick to the body. Souza throws a pair of rights, but both miss. Souza drops Brunson with a big right to the job as Souza rushes in. Just as Beltran looks ready to stop it, Brunson pops to his feet, but immediately eats another left and right and lands back on the mat. "Jacare" lands a couple more shots to the downed Brunson and Beltran stops it.
