Saul Alvarez vs. Shane Mosley

Round 1: Both fighters open orthodox as expected. Early Mosley is pawing with the jab and taking center of the ring. Nice jab from Canelo finds the mark and the speed differential is clear. Now Alvarez is taking center ring. Mosley gets nailed with a left hook. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Alvarez.

Round 2: Canelo right away with the jab, but Mosley trying to back Alvarez up. Hard right hook by Mosley misses and he eats another jab. Hard left hook from Canelo, but Mosley fires his own at the same time. Hard shots to the body from Canelo as they get in close. Leaping left hook from Canelo and he dodges a right hook from Mosley. Now a left from Alvarez and things are staring to heat up. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Alvarez (20-18 overall).

Round 3: Alvarez opens up head-body to start the third frame. Mosley swinging hard, but hitting nothing but air so far. Right hand counter from Alvarez finds the mark. Back to the jab for Alvarez, but he takes a left hook for it. And then gives one back. It appears a headbutt has cut Canelo, but the round continues. Mosley with the jab now. Round 4: Left hook to the body from Canelo and the a right hand. Again to the body from Alvarez. Mosley with a right hand to the body, but Canelo is back to the jab. Canelo connects with a left off a combo. Nice jab again from Alvarez. Right hand from Alvarez now. Mosley lands a right hand, but Alvarez avoids further punishment. Round 5: Alvarez is back to the jab and now he's trying to pressure Mosley. Right hand for Alvarez lands twice now. Now two left hooks for Alvarez back Mosley up. Both trade on the inside and Alvarez pops Mosley's head back. Mosley's jab partially finds the mark now. Alvarez starting to throw hard and fires the left hook. Round 6: Mosley trying to pressure but so far nothing doing. Alvarez lands two nice body shots. Canelo's jab landing slightly better than Mosley and now Canelo drives a hard right hand to the head of Mosley. Canelo starting to put combinations together. Two hard left and right hooks from Alvarez land flush. Alvarez is truly starting to open up now including with the jab. MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Alvarez (60-54 overall).

Round 7: Again, Mosley trying to back up Canelo and whiffs on a right hook. Nice right hand for Mosley now. Alvarez tries to rip a few shots to the body, but only partially lands. Alvarez now working the jab. And now a right hand. Hard right hand from Canelo finds the mark. Mosley eats a left hook as he tries to back Canelo into a corner. And now another. Round 8: Mosley pressing Alvares into the ropes and the referee separates them. Mosley flashes a bunch of pitter-patter shots as Canelo lays against the fence. Left hook to the body by Alvarez now. Round 9: Uppercut from Alvarez finds the mark, but it wasn't huge. Fighters exchange in the center and Canelo gets the best of it. Left hook to the body from Mosley. Alvarez stalking and is starting to land more. Two hard body shots from Alvarez and a monster right hook. Round 10: Alvarez doing most of the pressuring early, but Mosley trying to push the kid around, too. Big left hook from Alvarez. And again. Now he's back to the jab. Round 11: Canelo putting five-punch combinations together to open the round. Slapping right hook from Mosley finds the mark. Alvarez goes to the body, but again Mosley fires back. Left hook from Mosley, but he eats a hard jab. And an uppercut. Alvarez now lands a right hand on a three-punch combination. Left hook now for Alvarez and this is a total route.
