Round 1: Herb Dean is your referee. There is no glove tap before the fight. Henderson with a low leg kick. Diaz is already taunting. Diaz grabs Henderson and pushes him against the fence. Both guys are throwing knees in the clinch. Henderson switches position. Still clinching. Diaz working for throws and trips, but doesn't get him. Henderson gets underhooks and briefly gets him down on a knee, but Diaz is back up. The chess match continues. Diaz lands an elbow from the clinch. Henderson with a trip. Diaz is daring Henderson to come in after him. Henderson obliges. Diaz gives up his back and gets back to his feet. Henderson with a leg kick that knocks Diaz off balance, and back to his feet. Round 2: Henderson again with a low kick and a takedown. Henderson's size advantage is obvious and he's taking advantage. Back on their feet, they grapple along the fence. Diaz just doesn't seem to have any answers for Henderson's game plan. Henderson rocks Diaz backwards with a big left. Henderson dishes out some ground and pound. Diaz again gives up his back and again is able to get to his feet. Diaz finally scores a trip with about 40 seconds left, but Henderson is right back to his feet. Round 3: Henderson continues to use his low kick to set up combos. Diaz walks into a takedown and lands several big shots, but Diaz is back up. All those leg kicks are taking their toll on Diaz. Diaz hits the mat and he's working for a submission, controlling Henderson's wrists, but nothing is coming of it. Henderson stands and Diaz throws kicks from the ground. Diaz rolls and catches Henderson in a kneebar. Henderson goes for a heel hook as a counter. Uenderson spins out of it and gets Diaz's back. Crazy scramble continues, as Diaz is again going for the kneebar. Diaz flips Henderson off and attempts yet another kneebar. They stand. Henderson drops Diaz with a big right and withstands Henderson's flurry. Henderson moves into side control. Diaz committed to side control. Henderson postures up and a crazy round comes to an end. Round 4: Positional battle early ends with Henderson scoring a trip. Diaz turtles and Henderson lands a knee to the body. Diaz gets up, but Henderson puts him right back to the mat. Standing now, along the fence, Diaz tries for a Kimura and doesn't get it. Every time Diaz gets up, Henderson puts him right back on the mat. Midway through the round. Henderson is in Diaz's half-guard as Diaz works for an armbar. He lets go and Henderson lands a hammerfist and an elbow. Round 5: The doctor checks out Diaz before the start of the round. Last chance for Diaz, who has had his boxing game completely shut down. Henderson is basically smothering Diaz against the fence. Henderson picks Diaz up and slams him to the mat. A standing Henderson rains punches and elbows to the downed Diaz. Diaz is back to his feet, but instantly bodylocked against the cage by Henderson. Midway through the round. Henderson just owning Diaz in the clinch. Diaz with a trip, but Henderson scrambles right back to his feet. Henderson lands a head kick. Henderson opens up with a flurry of punches to the body. The irrepressible Diaz tries to goad Henderson in the closing seconds. An absolute virtuoso execution of the game plan by Benson Henderson.
