UFC 153 live blog: Phil Davis vs. Wagner Prado

The second fight of the night at UFC 153 is Phil Davis vs. Wagner Prado. This is a light heavyweight bout, meaning 205 pounds. This bout is scheduled for three, five-minute rounds. This bout is a rematch after their first bout was declared a no-content from an eye poke. The referee in charge of the action is Marc Goddard.

Round 1: Prado opens southpaw, Davis is orthodox. Both fighters are largely feeling each other out for over a minute before Davis times a double and takes Prado to the mat and against the cage. Prado is trying to stand, but Davis is now behind him and using a leg ride to keep Prado down. Davis lets him stand and just as he does he again changes levels for a takedown which results in a huge slam. Prado is able to stand again and after a failed single leg attempt he transitioned to a body lock, which, again means Prado goes for a ride from a slam.

MMA Fighting scores this round 10-9 Davis

Round 2: After about a minute Davis presses Prado against the fence and pulls his feet out from under him. Prado is sitting up against the cage and Davis lets him up, but clinches up with him. Davis again drags Prado to the floor and is working on top from loose half guard. Davis attempts a head and arm triangle, but Prado rolls out. As soon as he does, however, Davis front head locks him and moves to secure the anaconda choke. He does and then gator rolls Prado. The Brazilian taps shortly thereafter.
