in July. Meanwhile, Bowles (10-1) will look to stay undefeated in the UFC and secure a rematch against Cruz -- Bowles' only career loss.

Round 1: The crowd is squarely behind Faber tonight, which shouldn't surprise anyone, least of all Bowles. Faber claims the center of the cage right away while Bowles jabs from the outside with his back to the fence. Good right hand from Faber, followed by an uppercut. Faber opens up with a punch combo that pushes Bowles back. Bowles is undeterred though, and he backs Faber up with a right hand moments later. Faber shoots in low and scoops Bowles up for a big slam that gets the crowd pumped up. Faber stands up out of Bowles' guard in the final 30 seconds, but gets up-kicked for his trouble. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Faber.

Round 2: Bowles puts together a four-punch combo to start the round. Faber times an uppercut perfectly and catches Bowles coming straight into it. The punch sends Bowles reeling and Faber jumps on him, dropping him with more strikes and pouring it on. Bowles is hanging tough, but Faber isn't letting up. Knees to the body by Faber, and he locks up a guillotine from mount. Bowles tries to indicate that he's okay, but he can't hold out there for long, and has to tap.

Urijah Faber def. Brian Bowles via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:27 of round two

In his post-fight interview, Faber tells bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz to "throw some gel in that widow's peak" and get ready for another battle. Looks like it's rubber match time.
