Ed Herman Replaces Tom Lawlor, Will Face Kyle Noke in August

After a successful return from an injury layoff, Ed Herman is wasting no time in keeping his momentum moving forward.

The longtime UFC middleweight has stepped into a vacancy left by an injury to Tom Lawlor, and will face Kyle Noke at the upcoming UFC on Versus event in August, the UFC confirmed on Friday.

The 30-year-old Herman spent nearly two years on the shelf after an August 2009 loss to Aaron Simpson resulted in a severe knee injury. Herman finally returned at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale in June, and made up for lost time with a 48-second knockout of Tim Credeur.

Herman is 20-7 overall.

Noke (19-4-1) has yet to lose in the UFC, winning all three of his matches in the organization. He holds wins over Chris Camozzi, Rob Kimmons and Josh Bryant. All three of his victories have come via stoppage.

The UFC gave no details on the injury to Lawlor.

UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle takes place on August 14 from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
