The Titan Fighting Championship promotion announced Wednesday the new opponent for Jens Pulver after the previously scheduled one was removed for taking an outside fight without permission and then getting medically suspended.
Pulver had been scheduled to meet Mike Powell (11-3), but Powell will not be cleared to fight following a second-round TKO loss on April 23 in North Dakota.
Brian Davidson (6-3), who has fought for Strikeforce and Bellator, is being pulled from retirement to face Pulver in the main event of Titan FC 18 on May 27 in Kansas City. The fight will be contested at a catchweight of 140 pounds.
Pulver (24-14-1) has been trying to reinvent himself with Team Curran in Crystal Lake, Ill. Entering 2011 with six consecutive losses, Pulver has since won two local fights.
Below is the current Titan FC 18 fight card, which will air live on HDNet.
Jens Pulver vs. Brian Davidson
Drew McFedries vs. Darryl Cobb
Rory Markham vs. Rudy Bears
Joe Wilk vs. Jesse Zeugin
John Ott vs. Mike Glynn
Bobby Cooper vs. Nick Budig
Sean Wilson vs. Deryck Ripley
