UFC 129 Prelims on Spike TV to Feature Two Welterweight Bouts

Welterweight matchups Nate Diaz vs. Rory MacDonald and Sean Pierson vs. Jake Ellenberger have been selected as the two undercard bouts to air live on Spike TV off the UFC 129 card on Saturday, April 30 in Toronto.

UFC 129: Prelims will air at 8 p.m. ET as a lead-in to the pay-per-view headlined by Georges St-Pierre vs. Jake Shields. The new pay-per-view airtime of 9 p.m. ET begins with this event.

Diaz (13-6) is coming off a unanimous decision loss earlier this year to Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 125. MacDonald (10-1), who is returning from an injury that kept him out of UFC 123 in November, suffered his first career loss last June to Carlos Condit at UFC 115.

Pierson (11-4) won his UFC debut last December with a unanimous decision over Matt Riddle. Ellenberger (24-5) steps in on short notice to replace Brian Foster, who had to withdraw from the fight due to an MRI test detecting a brain hemorrhage.

MacDonald and Pierson are among the 10 Canadians competing on the card.
