UFC on Versus 3 Results: Danny Castillo Upsets Joe Stevenson

Former Ultimate Fighter winner Joe Stevenson may be on his last legs in the UFC.

Stevenson was defeated by UFC newcomer Danny Castillo by unanimous decision Thursday at the UFC on Versus 3 card in Louisville, Kentucky, giving Stevenson his third consecutive loss. The UFC may not give him a chance to make it four in a row.

After the fight, which the judges scored for Castillo 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28, Castillo had nothing but positive things to say about Stevenson.

"He's a true vet, so I was worried about everything," Castillo said. "He's a true veteran, and my hat's off to him. Great fight."

But while Stevenson is a respected veteran who was once viewed as a budding star by the UFC, that time has passed. The loss dropped Stevenson's record to 31-13, and he hasn't won a fight since beating Spencer Fisher in October of 2009. Overall, Stevenson has lost five of his eight fights since he was anointed the No. 1 lightweight contender at the end of 2007.

Castillo, who improves to 11-3, is now on a three-fight winning streak, and he looked good in his UFC debut. His future is much brighter than Stevenson's.
