UFC 127 Live Blog: Ross Pearson vs. Spencer Fisher Updates

This is the UFC 127 live blog for Ross Pearson vs. Spencer Fisher, a lightweight bout on tonight's Spike TV portion of the card from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Pearson (11-4) is coming off his first UFC loss against Cole Miller last September. Fischer (24-6) snapped a two-fight losing streak last October when he defeated Curt Warburton at UFC 120.

Round 1: The fight settles into a standup affair quickly. Pearson starts to get the better of it, but when he wades in with a kick, Fisher takes him down. Pearson looks for an arm bar and Fisher picks him up to slam him down. Pearson lets it go and they're back to their feet. Back to the standup and it's pretty even, but Fisher is the aggressor, moving forward while Pearson counters. Because of the aggression and takedown, MMA Fighting gives the round to Fisher, 10-9.

Round 2: All standup early in the round. Pearson lands a straight over-the-top right. Fisher fires back a left. The two reach a clinch, where Pearson gets a bodylock from the back and looks for a takedown. Fisher does his best to stay upright and breaks Fisher's grip, working free. Pearson opens up with a big right hand, then a left to the body. Pearson starts to score late and takes the round 10-9.

Round 3: Pearson drags Fisher to the ground inside of the first minute, but Fisher pops right back to his feet. They settle back into a striking match. Fisher goes back into aggressor mode. Pearson begins to score with short strikes but Fisher is the man coming forward, which is going to make it a tough round to score. Fisher slipped down and Pearson landed a couple strikes from the top. Fisher got to his feet, but Pearson cleanly took him down a few seconds later. That will probably win him the fight. Pearson landed a few strikes as the round ended. MMA Fighting scores it for Pearson, 10-9.

Winner: Ross Pearson via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
