UFC 127 Live Blog: Michael Bisping vs. Jorge Rivera Updates

Michael Bisping takes on Jorge Rivera at UFC 127.This is the UFC 127 live blog for Michael Bisping vs. Jorge Rivera, a middleweight bout on tonight's UFC pay-per-view from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Over and over again Rivera (19-7) has taken to YouTube to get underneath Bisping (20-3)'s skin leading up to UFC 127. At the press conference earlier this week, Bisping was the verbal victor. Let's see who gets the final word.

The live blog is below.

Round 1: No glove touch for the two, who have been trash-talking all week. Rivera leads with a big right that flies past Bisping's head. Bisping back with a right. Bisping goes low and takes him down. Rivera gets right back up. Bisping lands a punch and Rivera invites him in. Bisping with an inside leg kick. Bisping with another takedown midway through the round. Rivera was about to get up and Bisping hit him with an illegal knee to the face. Rivera was clearly down, and you have to wonder if all the trash got the better of him and he couldn't stop himself. The ref deducted a point from Bisping, and the doctors came in to check on Rivera, who looked out of it. He said he could continue and the fight resumed. Rivera fired off a right out of the break. Bisping went low for a takedown but Rivera stopped him this time. Bisping took Rivera down with :45 left. Bisping would have won the round if it weren't for the point deduction. It's a 9-9 round.

Round 2: Rivera rocked Bisping with a right early. Bisping clinched to give himself time. Bisping seemed to recover. Bisping hurt Rivera with a right, then a series of shots. Rivera looked in serious trouble. Bisping hammered him with strikes and Rivera couldn't answer. Rivera went to his knee and Bisping landed a few more shots until the ref stopped it.

Seconds after the fight, Bisping walks towards Rivera's corner and spits at them. He then walks towards the downed Rivera and tells him to apologize. Bisping did apologize for his behavior in his post-fight interview but he won't win fans with his behavior.

Winner: Michael Bisping via TKO, Rd. 2 (1:54)
