Ex-Sengoku Champ Marlon Sandro Signs With Bellator

Former Sengoku featherweight champion Marlon Sandro has signed with Bellator.

Although Bellator won't say if Sandro (17-2) will be competing as soon as the fourth season beginning in March, he will fight for Bellator sometime in 2011. He won't be part of Bellator's season four featherweight tournament, which has already been filled.

Sandro last fought at Sengoku: Soul of Fight on Dec. 30, dropping his title to Hatsu Hioki via unanimous decision in a grueling five-round affair. As a member of the Sengoku roster, Sandro compiled a record of 5-2.

Considered one of the top 10 featherweights in the world, the 33-year-old Sandro trains alongside UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

Sandro, who fought exclusively in Brazil the first three years of his career and then solely in Japan the following three, will be making his U.S. debut when he starts with Bellator.
