Gracie (3-0) made his Strikeforce debut last May by submitting Kevin Randleman with a rear-naked choke. Prangely (23-6-1) took a fight outside of Strikeforce last September and won a split decision over Keith Jardine.

Round 1: Prangley's team just barely gets their sponsor banner out of the cage in time, but potential disaster averted. The two men touch gloves and then spend the next thirty seconds or so staring at each other, prompting a wave of boos from the crowd. Gracie dangles his left hand out in front to keep Prangley at a distance, and after getting comfortable he begins to open up with strikes in the clinch. A takedown by Gracie puts Prangley on his back midway through the first, and it's time for the jiu-jitsu phenom to go to work. Gracie gets to side control, then mount, all with a minute and a half still left in the round. Prangley tries to scramble up, but Gracie takes his back. Gracie methodically works for the rear naked choke and gets it without much trouble. It's tight, and Prangley has no choice but to tap.
