Ryan Couture will face Lee Higgins in the upcoming Strikeforce Challengers 14 event, MMA Fighting has learned.The fight's booking was confirmed by Strikeforce director of communications Mike Afromowitz.
Ryan Couture, son of mixed martial arts legend Randy Couture, will be making the second start of his pro career. Last August, he defeated Lucas Stark via triangle choke.
Higgins is 2-0 in his brief career. The 30-year-old Texas-based fighter turned pro in November 2010 and has fought twice since then, defeating both Kenny Burke and Gilbert Jimenez via rear naked choke.
The Strikeforce Challengers 14 event will emanate from the Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas, and feature a previously reported main event between lightweight contenders Lyle Beerbohm and Pat Healy.
