Strikeforce Live Blog: Ovince St. Preux vs. Abongo Humphrey Updates

This is the Strikeforce live blog for Ovince St. Preux vs. Abongo Humphrey, a light heavyweight bout on tonight's Strikeforce Challengers 13 on Showtime card from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn.

OSP (9-4) is coming off a destruction over Benji Radach last month at Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu. Humphrey (7-2) is probably best known for winning the BET Iron Ring tournament as well as losing to Brett Rogers in his Strikeforce debut. As a 205er, Humphrey is 1-1 in Strikeforce with a win over George Bush and a loss to Mike Kyle.

The live blog is below.

Round 1: OSP lands a left and Humphrey is stunned. OSP fires away with punches as Humphrey looks to clinch. However, OSP gets the takedown. The super quick and lanky OSP looks to pass and eventually gets side control. OSP steps his right leg over for full mount but Humphrey uses the space to turn into OSP for a single-leg. OSP, off his back, attempts a triangle. Humphrey escapes and sits back to attack OSP's left foot. Humphrey tries to extend the leg for a kneebar. OSP escapes and takes full mount. Risky attempt doesn't pay off for Humphrey. OSP drops left hands. OSP attempts the arm-triangle choke with around 40 seconds left. Humphrey survives! and the round ends with OSP in full mount. 10-9 OSP.

Round 2:
Humphrey is outmatched in the standup department and he looks to take the fight to the ground. OSP turns Humphrey against the cage and into Humphrey's guard. They trade punches and Humphrey is turning it on in search of the KO (but OSP defends). OSP hits back and Humphrey retreats to clinch. OSP takes Humphrey down. The referee stands them up. Humphrey lands clean shots (uppercut, right and another right) and now it's Humphrey looking for the takedown. Humphrey attempts a guillotine and the round ends. 10-9 OSP.

Round 3: OSP connects with a knee as Humphrey comes in for the takedown. Humphrey takes OSP down but OSP just reverses to gain top position inside of Humphrey's guard. The referee stands them up. Humphrey lands a high kick. OSP sits Humphrey with a double-leg. Humphrey grabs the guillotine, but he's in a bad position to finish with his own head against the fence. Still, he holds on, in halfguard. OSP steps over with his left leg to take side control, essentially freeing himself from Humphrey's guillotine attempt. Humphrey escapes to closed guard and we get another standup with one minute left. Humphrey lands a leg kick and slips on a high kick. OSP gains top position in Humphrey's halfguard. Humphrey escapes to full guard. The third round also goes to OSP 10-9, making the fight 30-27 OSP.

Ovince St. Preux def. Abongo Humphrey via unanimous decision (30-27 3x)

OSP wins his third Strikeforce fight in seven weeks.
