Ortiz shot a video last Wednesday while signing the agreement to fight Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and posted it online. In doing so, Ortiz confirmed that the fight will take place on March 26 in Seattle, Wash. The light heavyweight bout is expected to headline UFC Fight Night 24 on Spike TV.
This has to be considered Ortiz's last chance to make another run in the UFC. "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" is 0-4-1 since his win over Ken Shamrock in October 2006, most recently losing to Matt Hamill at UFC 121. After the loss, UFC president Dana White wouldn't immediately commit to bringing back Ortiz (15-8-1) for one more fight, but he agreed to it several weeks later.
Nogueira (19-4) is 2-1 in the UFC, most recently losing via unanimous decision to Ryan Bader in September. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's twin brother holds wins over Luiz Arthur Cane and Jason Brilz inside the Octagon.
UFN 24, which has yet to be officially announced by the UFC, will mark the organization's first trip to Seattle.
