
Contrary to several Internet reports, UFC president Dana White confirmed with MMA Fighting on Wednesday that organization had not signed the lightweight fighter.
Kitaoka, 27-10-9, is just 2-2 in his last four fights. He most recently competed for Pancrase this year, picking up wins over Jorge Rodrigues and Kuniyoshi Hironaka.
At the moment, there doesn't appear to be any interest from the UFC in signing him.
The former Sengoku lightweight champion's most notable wins came against Takanori Gomi in 2009, Paul Daley in 2006, Carlos Condit in 2005 and Kurt Pellegrino in 2004.
UFC recently announced the signings of Michihiro Omigawa and Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto.
