This is the Strikeforce live blog for Paul Daley vs. Scott Smith, a welterweight bout on tonight's Strikeforce on Showtime card from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Paul Daley (25-9-2) has defeated Daniel Acacio and Jorge Masvidal since his lost to Josh Koscheck in May. Scott Smith, who will be making his welterweight debut, (17-7) dropped a rematch to Cung Le in June.

Round 1: Daley lands a leg kick. Smith connects on a jab that stumbles Daley. Daley goes back to work on Smith's legs. A head kick by Daley is blocked. Daley lands a jab and cross to drop Smith. Smith stands back up and recovers. Daley lands a jab and another. Daley comes in with an overhand right. Daley lands two lefts. Smith comes forward swinging away and Daley makes him pay for it, dropping Smith with a left hook. WOW. That was sickening with Smith falling face first to the mat.

Daley says he wants to fight KJ Noons next and then Nick Diaz.
