UFC Finalizes Card for TUF 12 Finale

LAS VEGAS – On the heels of Wednesday's Season 12 wrapup of "The Ultimate Fighter," which saw Michael Johnson beat Nam Phan and Jonathan Brookins beat Kyle Watson to reach Saturday's live finals, three bouts featuring contestants from the show have been added to the card.

Johnson and Brookins will meet in the co-main event to determine Season 12's lightweight champion. Also booked are bouts between Watson and quarterfinalist Sako Chivitchian; quarterfinalists Cody McKenzie and Aaron Wilkinson; and Phan and WEC vet Leonard Garcia. The UFC made the bouts official Thursday morning.

The only quarterfinalist from the season not on the card is Alex "Bruce LeeRoy" Caceres, who lost to Johnson in the round of eight. Caceres was perhaps the most polarizing member of Season 12's TUF house. But sources close to the card confirmed to MMA Fighting that an injury kept Caceres from being ready for Saturday's card.

Phan will drop down from the 155-pound division he fought at on the show to face Garcia in the first televised featherweight bout in the UFC's history. Zuffa, which owns the UFC and WEC, announced in October the two promotions will merge in 2011. Saturday's card features three other preliminary-card bouts that mark the first lighter-weight fights in the restructured UFC.

Season 12 of "The Ultimate Fighter" pitted UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck as opposing coaches. Those two face each other for the St-Pierre's title on Dec. 11 in the main event of UFC 124 in Montreal.
